Darwinian vs. Lamarckian Genetics

(this is a repost from Feb. 2014 which gives a scientific basis for my experience in the last article.)

A shift in consciousness creates a shift in biology. We are consciousness evolving back to Source. Charles Darwin, a great scientist and geneticist had proposed that all species evolve via a process of survival of the fittest. This process was also called natural selection. 

His contemporary, a scientist named Lamarck was widely ignored at the time. Lamarck had proposed an opposing theory - that humans evolve via traits and belief systems which are passed on to the offspring. According to Lamarckian genetics, a human being can aquire traits within a lifetime and pass them on to future generations.

One scientist who has become famous worldwide in recent times is, Dr. Bruce Lipton. He has reintroduced Lamarckian genetics to the world in recent years. As per the latest research, our biology and even our genetic makeup is a function of belief systems held and passed on over lifetimes. 

It appears that new research in genetics, called 'epigenetics', shows how genes can express themselves uniquely, or be activated or de-activated via surface proteins, depending upon our belief systems. Bruce Lipton is even reputed to be the rebirth of Lamarck in this time. It is true that souls continue their work from lifetime to lifetime, especially work which was left somehow incomplete.

In Sanskrit as per the ancient wisdom of India, limiting belief systems may be referred to as Sanskaras - shadows which we caste upon the light of our own soul. Limiting or erroneous belief systems cause illness, pain, and suffering. Soul coaching, therapy, hypnosis, and guided meditation are methods of unwinding these beliefs and returning back to our natural state of health and well being.

Vallalar Birthday Today

Vallalar was born in South Arcot district , at a village called Maruthur, located near Chidambaram. His father Ramaiah Pillai was a village Munsif, and his mother was Chinnamayar. He was born on 5th October 1823 as a 5th child to this noble couple. Once a great Saint came to Chinnamayar for some food. She served him with a great respect! An event in Dakshineswar Bhavatarini Kali temple that took place at 9 p.m. on May 25, 1873. During the years 1862 and 1863, Sri Ramakrishna did his tantric sadhana. He had vision of various Devi’s forms.
